Haley
Brousseau
My name is Haley brousseau but most folks call me Hoolie and I am a member of the template.
I’ve doodled as far back as I can remember. Mostly just pencil on paper. I loved this but I felt like there was little to be discovered between myself the pencil and paper. I bored of it and stopped creating for a couple Of years.
And then I found oil paint.
I fell in love. Buttery oil color have such life. It breaths and blends at its own accord seemingly with its own desires of creation.
When I stand at my easel, I feel less of an artist and more of a witness to what the paint is willing into life.
And thats how I paint. Haphazardly with little planning and a lot of gasps of
“oh shit, this is actually working”
It’s a mixture of exhilaration and peace.
The process is so deeply nourishing that the outcome just doesn’t matter so much.
I hope you enjoy

StePHEN
LOVE
Huelove was one of our first friends in San Diego and was the match that sparked our flame. Stephen love, who paints under the moniker ‘Huelove’ grew up designing and drawing in the city of Philadelphia. Whether he paints using oils on a small canvas or painting on a huge wall using only coffee grounds, he usually goes for drawings of human figures using exotic color that mesh the human figure and abstraction. Huelove’s particular speed painting style consists of creating solid consistent compositions from wild abstract paint strokes. Through this method he is interested in creating figurative demotions full of expressive colors, and works can be seen on public walls and in restaurants locally in the San Diego area. Stay tuned for a paint class lead by him soon!
